Popular Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has made a heartfelt plea for financial support, revealing her ongoing struggles in an emotional video shared on her Instagram page today (Tuesday).

Fighting back tears, Halima expressed exhaustion and desperation, stating that she has been battling health challenges while struggling financially.
“I Am Not Okay” – Halima Cries Out
In the video, the actress dismissed claims that she was faking her illness, emphasizing that she has been struggling in silence for a long time.
“People are confused about what is going on. I am not feeling well up until now. I am just good at being strong and pretending that I am okay,” she said.
Halima further revealed that she relocated to the village for a year while undergoing treatment and that she has spent all her savings on medical expenses, including multiple MRI scans and treatment for high blood pressure.
“I have so many medical things to do. My MRI, my BP. It’s 157. What am I thinking? I have not done a movie for more than six years now. What do people want? For me to die?” she lamented.
“Nollywood Has Abandoned Me”
The actress also accused her colleagues in Nollywood of abandoning her in her time of need, stating that despite selling all her cars and assets, she has been left to struggle alone.
“Everybody in Nollywood, they don’t talk to me anymore because of this singular thing. I go from DM to DM trying to see who will help me. I was rich. I sold everything, my cars. Everything! You would think they would sympathize with me, but no.”
A Call for Help
While posting the video, Halima appealed to Nigerians to help her reach her state governor and senator for financial assistance.
Her emotional plea has since sparked reactions online, with fans and well-wishers expressing concern and calling on industry colleagues and the public to support the actress during this difficult time.
