Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is set to make his acting debut after being cast in the upcoming animated movie ViQueens.
The football star will lend his voice to a Viking-inspired version of himself, with his character also named “Haaland” in the children’s adventure film.
Producers announced his involvement via Instagram, describing the role in exciting terms.
“A modern Viking enters the ViQueens universe,” the statement read.
“From December 25, audiences will meet Haaland as the legendary Viking ‘Haaland’ in our new animated feature film ViQueens.”
The film is set in a fantasy world featuring warrior girls, icy landscapes and mythology inspired by the Silk Road.
Solveig Langeland, Managing Director of Sola Media, which handles global distribution of the project, said Haaland’s involvement adds a new dimension to the production.
