A former Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba, was sighted in London recently strolling with his granddaughter with a walking aid.
The video of the 63-year-old politician who was the seventh Speaker of the House of Reps surfaced online recently.
Ghali Na’Abba, who was elected Speaker during the Olusegun Obasanjo-led administration, was reported dead in 2020 but he took to social media to debunk the news. He explained that the clampdown on travels which was as a result of the outbreak of Coronavirus, got him stuck in London, thus making him absent in Nigeria.
Ghali Na’Abba has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). since December 2018.
Mr Na’abba, from Kano State, was speaker between 1999 and 2003.
He announced his resignation from the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2018 in a letter addressed to the APC Chairman of his Sharada Ward of Kano Municipal Local Government.
His reasons for dumping APC?
““My decision to resign from the party follows the cavalier manner in which both the federal government, states controlled by the APC and the APC itself are being run, as a result of which anybody who has eyes to see only sees doom and not prosperity for our dear country, he wrote in parts.
Now a critic and statesman, his recuperating video is causing ripples online and many are wondering what sickness led to this.
