The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has conferred degrees on 5,826 students for the 2023-2024 academic session, with 119 graduates earning first-class honors.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faruk Kuta of FUT Minna, disclosed this on Tuesday during a pre-convocation media briefing at the university’s permanent site in Gidan Kwanu, Minna.
Professor Faruk Kuta also revealed that some distinguished Nigerians would receive Honorary Doctorate Degrees.


FUT Minna: According to Kuta, the graduating students include 4,955 undergraduates, 632 Master’s degree recipients, 105 Postgraduate Diploma holders, and 124 PhD graduates.
Breaking down the undergraduate degree classifications, Kuta noted that 1,431 students secured Second Class Upper, 2,341 obtained Second Class Lower, 972 graduated with Third Class, and 92 earned a Pass.
“In line with our tradition, graduates will collect original copies of their certificates immediately after the convocation. They will also be able to obtain students’ copies of their transcripts,” he added.
University Expands Academic Programmes and Infrastructure
Highlighting key achievements under his leadership, Kuta stated that FUT Minna has introduced 13 new academic programs aligned with global trends.


These include Software Engineering, Public Health, Forensic Science, Industrial Mathematics, and Agribusiness, among others.
As part of the convocation celebrations, the university will host a scientific research exhibition at the Suleiman Kumo Convocation Square on January 30.
Additionally, several completed projects will be commissioned, including a central workshop and foundry complex, an architectural studio, and a new TETFUND-funded hostel.
