A Magistrate court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State has sentenced Funke Akindele and her husband Abdulrasheed Bello to 14 days community service each.
The court also directed them to pay a fine of N100, 000 each.
Funke Akindele and her husband had over the weekend held a house party which breaks the lockdown rules.
Popularly
known as Jenifa, the actress was arrested on Sunday for hosting a birthday
party that contravened the Lagos State
Government’s Lockdown order.
The party held on Saturday in honour of her
husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz.
The party attracted more than the permissible
guests in line with the restriction order to contain COVID-19 pandemic.
Singer, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley, also graced the party, which had over 20 others in attendance.
Thousands of Nigerians on social media called for the arrest Akindele, popularly called ‘Jenifa’.
The actress, who is said to be an ambassador for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Dettol, has appeared in adverts calling on Nigerians to observe social distancing and hygiene.
