Veteran Fuji musician Abdul Azeez Oladeji, widely known as Love Azeez, has died at the age of 81.
The announcement was made by Adekunle Abiodun, general secretary of the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), in a post shared on Facebook.
Abiodun revealed that the respected singer passed away on Wednesday evening at his Lagos residence after a brief illness.
“So sad that, the oldest FUJI MUSICIAN, ALHAJI LOVE AZEEZ ADIO OLADEJI gave up the ghost this evening after a brief illness @ the ripe age of 81 successful & fulfilled years on the living planet,” he wrote.
“May the Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest, consoles his families, friends, fans, Professional Colleagues & well wishers to bear the irrecovery loss.
“RIPP BABA WA LOVE AZEEZ L’AGEGE.”
In another update, Abiodun confirmed that the late Fuji icon was buried on Thursday in line with Islamic traditions.

Love Azeez was recognised as one of the pioneering figures who contributed to the development and spread of Fuji music during its early years. The genre emerged in Lagos in the 1960s and later rose to national prominence through the influence of late Fuji legend Ayinde Barrister.
Throughout his decades-long career, Love Azeez remained active in the music scene and built a reputation as a respected voice in traditional Yoruba music, earning admiration from fans and colleagues alike.
