They were close friends. Quite close since Ibidun Ajayi was the first to win the Miss Lux beauty pageant . Then, Ifeoma Williams won in 1998.
Fondly calling her Lux 1, Ifeoma hasn’t come to terms with the fact that ibidun is dead.
Taking to Instagram, Ifeoma wrote on Sunday that ‘this was not the plan’ and shared throwback photos of the beauty queens when they won, and even as bridesmaids at their weddings.
“My Original LUX! LUX 1!!!!! What is this? When I read people write in bereavement- “This was not the plan”, it made no sense until today; this was not the plan. Rest In Peace.”
Then, this morning (Monday) she shared another post calling on her friend to pick her phone and read messages.
A lawyer and mother of two, Ifeoma, wrote, “Lux 1! I don wake dis morning, try your phone…… I Dey wait you. Enough is Enough now!! You no Dey like make I no well, my left side pain don begin O!! I no fit stand, I no fit waka. As I write for full English yesterday, you no answer me. Na im I say make I write as I Dey make you laff. Abeg, e don do. Phone me quick Abeg. Ibidunni, a humble and caring woman, died on Sunday morning of heart attack in Port Harcourt where she was handling COVID-19 isolation centre projects.
Announcing her death, Asue Ighodalo in a statement issued on behalf of the family said: “The Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families are deeply saddened to announce the sudden loss of our beloved wife and daughter Mrs. Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo who passed away in the early hours of today.
“As you will understand, this is a difficult time for our families and we will appreciate some privacy during this time. All information of burial proceedings will be provided in due course.”
