Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State has won the Abia North Senate election defeating incumbent senator, Mao Ohuabunwa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by 31,203 votes 20,801 votes, according to numbers declared by the returning officer for the election Dr. Charles Anumodu.
Kalu is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC
