Nigerian actor Omooba Oluwasegun Oyeyemi, known for his appearance in the Mount Zion Drama Ministries production Abattoir, has died at the age of 38.

His death was announced by the Bowen University Alumni Association in a post shared on Instagram. The association described him as a respected member of its alumni community and paid tribute to his contributions.

In the statement, members were encouraged to keep his family in their prayers and alumni living in Ibadan and nearby areas were urged to attend his burial in honour of his memory.

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing and burial of one of our esteemed alumni, Mr. Omooba Oluwasegun Oyeyemi, Gomobzzzz a proud member of the Vlable Set and BBSF Drama Unit, who recently went to be with the Lord,” the post reads.

“As the Bowen University Alumni Association, we humbly request that all alumni remember the family he left behind in their prayers, asking God to grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

“We also encourage all alumni residing in lbadan and its environs to be present at the burial as we come together to pay our final respects to our dear colleague and friend. Our prayer is that the Almighty God will console his family and loved ones, and grant Mr. Omooba Oluwasegun Oyeyemi eternal rest. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”

Information included in the burial announcement showed that a service of songs is scheduled for July 2 in Ibadan, while burial arrangements will conclude with interment at the Garden of Saints Cemetery on July 3. Attendees have been asked to wear white.

No official cause of death was disclosed.

Oyeyemi’s death comes months after the passing of Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, who portrayed Flora, his on-screen wife in Abattoir. She died in February 2025 following complications linked to injuries from a road accident.

The Mount Zion film community had earlier suffered another loss in 2024 when Moses Korede Are, who played Baba Gbenro in the series, passed away.
