First Bank of Nigeria Limited has partnered with the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) to host the 25th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES#25).

The silver jubilee edition of the summit themed “Nigeria 2050: Shifting Gears” began on Monday and will be concluded on Tuesday at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Ibukun Awosika, is expected to speak on gender empowerment at the plenary.

The summit is the foremost credible platform for public-private dialogue which enables policy makers and influencers to deliberate on issues, proffer policy options with a view to a better understanding of the nation’s economic policy direction and growth strategies.

National leaders and policy influencers billed to attend the event include President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, minister for finance, budget and national planning, Zainab Ahmed.

Other dignitaries expected are Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed.

Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Asue Ighodalo, will chair the event.

Panelists at the summit include Aliko Dangote, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele; Bishop Matthew Kukah, Governor Kayode Fayemi, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin; Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Ibukun Awosika
