Former minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode’s fiancée,
Precious Chikwendu is angry. Angry at the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission EFCC. Angry at the judge who failed to turn up in court today. Angry
that her hubby, Femi, would not go home again after 42 days in detention. Angrily,
she stormed out of court today. Fani-Kayode, who was the spokesman of the
former president Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign during 2015 election, is facing
charges of fraud and money laundering at a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.He was to be arraigned last Friday, but the case was postponed till Tuesday
owing to the judge’s absence. Mr Fani-Kayode pacified Chikwendu, but she
stormed out of the court premises as EFCC took her husband back in custody. No
reason was given for the judge’s absence.
An Ikeja magistrate court in Lagos had ruled that Fani-Kayode could remain in
EFCC custody for three weeks after his arrest on May 9.
