Shyngle Wigwe, father of the late billionaire and former Group CEO of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, has allegedly taken legal action against his 26 year old granddaughter, Otutochi, over a dispute concerning her father’s estate.
This comes months after reports surfaced in October 2024, alleging that the Wigwe family planned to disinherit the late banking tycoon’s children through alterations to his will. Although the family swiftly denied the claims at the time, a recent court summons suggests tensions remain unresolved.
According to the documents circulating online, the legal case identified with suit number ID/7735, FMP/2024 was filed at the Lagos State Judicial Division and backed by a court order issued on November 18, 2024.
The development has since triggered widespread reactions, with many social media users expressing disappointment over the alleged family feud.
One user, Real Joeclve, commented: “I don’t just know what is wrong with my African people fighting for what doesn’t belong to them. Shame on them all, nawa oo.”
Another, Atanda Quadri, lamented: “When one’s family is no longer safe, where does one run to?”
Meanwhile, Adeniran Adeboye remarked: “Primitive accumulators of wealth will not have peace in this world and hereafter.”
