Veteran Nollywood stars Faithia Williams and Saidi Balogun have stirred conversations on social media after sharing a warm moment at a recent film premiere in Lagos, years after their separation.
The former couple appeared together at the April 26 premiere of Efunroye: The Unicorn, a historical biopic produced by Faithia, where they were joined on stage by their son, Khalid. The trio showed up in coordinated outfits, drawing attention from guests at the event.
During the moment, Faithia acknowledged their relationship despite their past, while also expressing appreciation to her son and her management team, a gesture that earned applause from attendees.
The film, which tells the story of 19th-century businesswoman Efunroye Tinubu, is set for nationwide cinema release on May 1. It features notable actors such as Odunlade Adekola and Mercy Aigbe.
Their public reunion quickly went viral, with many social media users praising the maturity displayed by the duo, who were married from 2000 until their separation in 2014.
Reacting online, a user identified as Man of Letters (#Letter_to_Jack) questioned the narrative around their split, writing, “With everything you’re seeing in this video, you still believe he is her ‘ex’ husband?”
Another user, #linisexy88, commended their bond, stating, “A king supporting a queen. Nollywood legends showing us that ‘Ex’ doesn’t have to mean ‘Enemy.’ Khalid looks so proud to be standing between two greats.”
Also sharing his view, #AdefolaluSunday urged clarity on their relationship, writing, “Please be bold to tell us the good news we all have been waiting to hear that you are back with your husband. This hide-seek game no good jàre. You are better with Saheed Balogun.”
Offering a different take, #yuquas7 compared their dynamic to a fictional couple, noting, “When ‘marriage’ transforms into a business partnership. Reminds me of Frank and Claire Underwood in House of Cards.”

Other reactions described the moment as nostalgic and symbolic. User #arike_20 wrote, “The original power couple of our childhood. Seeing them like this is so healing. It just shows that the settlement is deeper than what we see on camera.”
The appearance comes amid recent sightings of both actors together at public events, further fuelling speculation about their relationship. Saidi Balogun also played a role in the film, highlighting their ongoing professional collaboration.
Although neither has confirmed a romantic reunion, their display of mutual respect and support has resonated with fans, many of whom see it as a strong example of peaceful co-parenting and enduring friendship in the entertainment industry.
