Congratulations are still in order as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi settles down with his third wife Shilekunola Moronke Naomi.
He announced his 25-year-old queen last Friday on his social media platforms.
Of a truth, nobody would fault the monarch from falling in love or remarrying, considering the fact that he had been a bachelor since his second marriage to Queen Wuraola crashed in July of 2017. Then, the pretty queen confirmed the end of her 17-month-old marriage to the monarch with an official statement on her Instagram handle.
Then, came the barrage of media reports on who the next queen would be. Many ladies, both in Nigeria and abroad, were touted as the queen-to-be and not a few went to town trying to look like Olori Wuraola.
But two ladies stood out of the pack in 2018 as ladies who the Ooni would marry.
First was 27-year-old Tobi Philips, a top model and former beauty queen. Pretty with an enviable height, it was all over town that the Ooni has proposed to her and set to marry her.
Tobi Philips, who is former World Miss University Nigeria, actually dated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
The two began dating in 2017 shortly after the Oba separated from Olori Wuraola. Though considered a ‘wife material’ by the monarch, she was later dumped for reasons best known to the king.
But then, the Ooni’s affair with a co-convener of Hopes Alive Initiative, a non profit organization, Temitope Adesegun, was one that rocked the media space.
Oba Ogunwusi was smitten over Tope.
An On-Air Personality, Temitope Adesegun is a talented presenter with unprecedented disposition. Highly cerebral, precise, accurate and objective in all assignment, she was touted to be the next queen and her friends went to town with the story. 
Temitope is a vibrant and result focused professional with over 15 years progressive experience as a public administrator at several levels and leader in health and other developmental communications and advocacy strategies.
Widely revered in management, Temitope bagged diplomas in Linguistics and Data Processing from the University of Lagos in 1998 and 2000 respectively and a Bachelors’ in Business Administration from the same university.
That was in August 2018 and there was a lot of pressure on the Ooni, who was just 43 years old (he marked his 44th birthday last week), to take another wife and sire his heirs, being the most important Oba in Yorubaland.
Though the revered monarch denied any romantic affairs with any of these ladies, sources close to them and their family members confirmed the gestures from the king and his family members in ensuring the affairs turned into marriages.
Since the announcement of the new queen, not a few friends and family members of the dumped ‘aspirants’ are bitter at the king’s conducts.
“There are many ladies in the United Kingdom, Canada and in the United States who Ooni Ogunwusi promised to marry and allegedly collected money and gifts from but he dumped them. Even his sisters are culpable. They slept in one of these ladies’ houses when they travelled to New Jersey!
To think that he now said he patiently waited for God to bring a prophetess is laughable. How come Ile Ife oracle only picks fair-complexioned ladies? That the oracle has now chosen a prophetess and declared her as Queen is another issue entirely. We are watching how Yeye will refund all he allegedly collected from these women,” sources close to one of these dumped ladies told Kemiashefonlovehaven.
Now that he has taken in his first wife, will he marry other women since he is a king and permitted to marry more than one wife?
