Moses Jituboh, the former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has died at the age of 54 after a brief illness.
Jituboh, who served Jonathan during his tenure as Bayelsa State governor, Vice President, and President, passed away on Friday, as confirmed by sources close to his family.
Efforts are reportedly underway to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
A distinguished officer, Jituboh returned to his duties with the Nigeria Police Force after the 2015 presidential election and was once considered for the position of Inspector General of Police.
Before retiring in 2023, he served as Deputy Inspector-General in charge of Research, Planning, and ICT at the Force Headquarters.
In a statement, the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 16, Adebola Hamzat, expressed condolences to Moses Jituboh’s family, the people of Bayelsa State, and the Nigeria Police Force.
“His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, dedication to service, and integrity can never be forgotten. The passing of DIG Moses Ambakina Jituboh is a great loss to the nation,” the statement read.
The news of his passing has left many mourning a man described as an exemplary officer whose legacy will not be forgotten.
