Ex Governor Yari Cries Out Over N10m Unpaid Allowance, Pension

Governor Yari Cries Out To Successor Over N10m Unpaid Allowance, Pension
In a letter written to the Governor of Zamfara State, his predecessor, Abdulazeez Yari has demanded the payment of his monthly allowance which the House of Assembly approved for him during his last days in power.
In the letter Yari disclosed that 10million Naira monthly allowance was approved for him. This money has only been paid twice since he left office, which was in June and July, 2019.
He also, in his letter reminded the Governor that he was also entitled to a lifetime monthly pension which is the amount he received last as the State Governor.
Zamfara is one of the poorest states in Nigeria which has been bedeviled with banditry even since the days of Yari. Only last week, 18 people were killed and the State Governor had linked the bandits attack with the visits of Yari to the State.
This came after he had successfully brokered peace with most of the bandits leading to a sharp drop in their activities before the latest resurgence.
