Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially presented the staff and instruments of office to Oba Samuel Adegbola as the Eleruwa of Eruwaland in Ibarapa East Local Government Area.

The presentation, which took place at the Executive Chamber, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, marked the resolution of a long-standing leadership dispute. The Eleruwa throne had remained vacant since Oba Adegbola’s removal by the Supreme Court on November 29, 2019.
Makinde emphasised that his administration respects the autonomy of traditional institutions and does not interfere in their affairs. He urged all parties involved in the dispute to prioritise peace and development over litigation.
“I approve the appointment of Oba Adegbola as recommended by the Kingmakers, ensuring Eruwaland returns to the path of development,” the governor stated.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Adegbola expressed commitment to uniting the people of Eruwa and collaborating with other traditional rulers for the state’s progress.
