The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq, wanted over allegations bordering on criminal conspiracy, abuse of office, and misappropriation of public funds.
The anti-graft agency published the notice on its official website on Saturday, stating that the former minister is being sought in connection with an ongoing investigation.
According to the commission, Farouq, aged 52, is from Zamfara State, with her last known address listed as EN 008, Okpo River, off Agulu Street, Maitama, Abuja.
In the notice signed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the agency appealed to Nigerians to provide any information that could assist in locating her.
“The public is hereby notified that Sadiya Umar Farouq, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of Criminal Conspiracy, Abuse of Office, Diversion of Public Funds,” the statement read.
The commission also advised anyone with relevant information to contact any of its offices nationwide, including those in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, Kaduna, Ilorin, Benin, Maiduguri, Sokoto, Uyo, Ibadan, Makurdi, and Gombe.

Members of the public were equally urged to reach the commission through its official phone line, email address, or the nearest police station.
Farouq served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2019 to 2023.
