Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated his closest challenger, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his local government in Orhionmwon.

The collation officer, who had earlier gone missing returned at about one hour later to present the result at the collation centre.

Announcing the result, PDP polled 13,445 votes, while the APC polled 10,458 votes.

Only one result from Ovia South West local government is currently being expected.
