Reports are in that Mercy Aigbe’s husband Lanre Gentry has been remanded at the Kirikiri Prisons in Lagos.
According to Best of Nollywood, the businessman was arraigned at the Ikeja magistrate court on a 3-count charge today, May 9. He was subsequently granted bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties.
However, Mr. Gentry was reportedly unable to meet his bail conditions, so he was remanded in Kirikiri prison.
This new update in the Mercy Aigbe marriage crash comes just a day after the actress dropped her husband’s last name on social media. She has changed to her maiden name, Aigbe.
She also called him out on Instagram for not showing up in court on Monday, debunking his claims of being hospitalised.
The four-year-old union which produced a son was placed on the front burner of discussions on Friday April 28, when pictures of a battered Mercy’s face went viral on social media. The actress’ husband Lanre Gentry was said to have inflicted the injuries on her while the couple had a fight during the Easter holiday. Also in the media was a copy of a CT scan she carried out after the violence on her which indicated that she had a fracture in her skull.
