This, she disclosed over the weekend, when DigiKolo partnered with the Florence Modupe Foundation to celebrate the Juvenile Harvest of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Abitoye, some Nigerians have lost millions of naira including dollars to some fraudulent elements who disguise as reliable financial houses.

Enjoining parents to also teach kids on how to save money, she opined that a good knowledge of where best to save money would have protected victims of such ponzi schemes.

“We were raised to save our money in small boxes called ‘kolo’. It’s a box that many children nowadays call piggy banks. But without ‘kolo’ you can still save money through your phone.

“This is possible through Digikolo, a money saving app, Nigerians can go to sleep when their money is with us at Digikolo. We aren’t fraudulent and we don’t make empty promises. When you download the app on your phone, follow the procedure and you can save your money in a safer and more secure wallet.”

Explaining further, the hardworking executive shared with the children, how to download the Digikolo app and save their pocket money.

“When I was a little child, any money given to me by visitors was saved in my ‘kolo’ {piggy bank) and when there is need to open it, I always got good money. Learn to save today and don’t eat up everything you can keep for future purposes,” she said.

In the same vein, the children’s funfare was a wonderful opportunity for the Florence Modupe  Foundation and Digikolo to give back to the community and promote the importance of good savings habits.

The Florence Modupe Foundation, a registered non-governmental organization, focuses on providing equitable access to quality education and life-changing skills for Africans, particularly women and children. The mission aligns perfectly with DigiKolo’s goal of empowering individuals through financial literacy.
