The Delta State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has distanced itself from a histology report circulating online and allegedly linked to relationship coach Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Israel Adaigho, and secretary, Usamah Hannah, the association clarified that the document in question did not originate from Blessing’s case but was instead issued to a different patient diagnosed with breast cancer.
According to the NMA, the original report was produced on May 9, 2025, by Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Asaba for a patient identified as Mbara Deborah, following a referral from a private hospital for a confirmatory test.
“Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State and did not at any time issue any report to Blessing Okoro,” the statement read.
The association explained that the laboratory’s proprietor, O.A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist and member of the NMA, reached out to clarify the situation after the document went viral.
It added that the test was legitimately conducted after a doctor requested confirmation of a suspected breast cancer case.

“The test was done and the result issued to the referring doctor as a case of breast cancer on the 9th of May, 2025,” the statement said.
The NMA further revealed that the authentic report, bearing the patient’s correct name, had been separately shared online by a law firm, stressing that it differs from the version circulating in connection with Blessing.
“A copy of that result is the one being circulated online by the law firm, with the name Mbara Deborah as the patient,” the statement said. “The result online from the law firm is the original version issued to the patient through her hospital.”
The association said it was necessary to address the issue due to how the altered report was being used, urging the public to take note.
“The integrity of our association and its members is very paramount and should not therefore be taken for granted.
“We call on the authorities responsible for maintaining law and order to do the needful and save the unsuspecting members of the public from being taken undue advantage of,” it stated.
The clarification adds a new dimension to the ongoing controversy surrounding Blessing CEO, who had earlier announced a stage four breast cancer diagnosis in an emotional video while soliciting financial support.
She reportedly received about ₦13 million in donations before questions were raised about her claims.
Deborah had previously alleged that the report shared by Blessing was hers and had been edited, further fueling public doubt.
The situation intensified during an Instagram Live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, where Blessing faced questions about her diagnosis.
In a later interview with influencer Egungun of Lagos, she denied having stage four cancer, attributing the claim to a possible misunderstanding.
“For what? Who did I hurt?” she said. “I think I’m not a doctor and maybe I just passed the message that a doctor gave to me.”
She also dismissed reports that she received ₦100 million, insisting the total donations amounted to ₦13 million, while noting that her oncologist is yet to determine the exact stage of her condition.
Amid growing backlash, some public figures, including actress Georgina Onuoha, have called for authorities to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, businessman Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo, also known as Oil Money, has reportedly demanded a refund of ₦20 million he claims to have donated, pursuing the matter through legal channels.
