Renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker Dayo Amusa has been elected National Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) following the successful national election held in Benin City, Edo State.
In a statement released on Monday, December 8, 2025, Amusa expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her by AGN members.
“My emergence as the AGN National Vice President is a testament to my unwavering dedication, leadership qualities, and longstanding commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,” she said.

She added that the achievement reflects the confidence of guild members in her ability to enhance the organisation’s operations. “This achievement reflects the trust and confidence reposed in me by members of the guild, and I am certain that my creativity and administrative excellence will bring renewed strength to the Secretariat and elevate the guild’s operational standards,” Amusa stated.
Looking ahead, she pledged to lead with transparency and innovation. “As I take on this important national role, my tenure will be marked by transparency, innovation, and impactful service that will inspire both current and future members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,” she added.
Dayo Amusa, known for starring in and producing several films including the popular Yoruba movie Dewunmi Iberu, said she intends to use her position to champion the interests of Nigerian actors and actresses. She highlighted the need for the Nigerian film industry to assert its pivotal role in national development.
In addition to her new AGN role, Amusa currently serves as Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, an initiative celebrating Ijebuland’s culture and heritage while promoting its stars in the entertainment industry. The network was founded by Bashorun Femi Branch, who serves as President, with Amusa as his deputy.
Widely respected across Nigeria for her accomplishments and contributions to Nollywood, Dayo Amusa continues to inspire emerging actors and remains a household name in the country.
