Danielle Adewusi, who represented Lagos State, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2026 after emerging victorious at the pageant’s grand finale.
Adewusi defeated 19 other contestants to take the title at the event held on Sunday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The competition featured several weeks of activities, with contestants participating in camp programmes, advocacy initiatives, talent presentations and various stage performances before the final night.
Adewusi received the crown from Guy Murray-Bruce, president of the Silverbird Group and national director of Miss Universe Nigeria.
According to the organisers, the new queen stood out during the competition through her confidence, intelligence, elegance and commitment to social impact.
The other contestants who made it into the top 10 were Anita Osikhena of Edo, Myya Jones of Cross River, Melissa Toghanro of Delta, Oluwafunmibi Ajaja of Ekiti, Benedicta Iferike of Abuja, Chidinma Oluku of Abia, Precious Chinah of Rivers, Eno Idungafa of Akwa Ibom and Edidiong Udoidua of Ebonyi.
Jones also secured an advantage during the competition after recording the highest number of votes in the fast-track voting round, which automatically earned her a place among the top five finalists.
Toghanro, who represented Delta, will go on to represent Nigeria at Miss Supranational.
Osikhena of Edo also emerged as one of the major award recipients on the night.

Other contestants received recognition in different categories, with Miss Akwa Ibom named Most Photogenic, while Miss Ekiti won Miss Amity.
Miss Edo received the Best Evening Dress award, Miss Oyo emerged Top Model, and Miss Osun won Best National Costume.
The Best Talent award went to Miss Ogun.
Following her victory, Adewusi will represent Nigeria at the 75th Miss Universe Festival scheduled to hold on November 24 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
