February 14 would have been their fifth wedding anniversary.
But the marriage, which produced a son, crashed less than two years after.
For Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh and Damilola, who were both stars in the soap opera, “Tinsel”, their vows to each other hit the rock finally in 2018.
Chris was to get married 13 months after at a private ceremony in Ghana to his late American based wife, Betty.
In an Instagram post on Valentine’s Day 2020, Damilola Adegbite, stated her position on being single and moving on.
She wrote, “Fun fact: I got married on this day 5 years ago.
Dear Single Lady,
What is coming is better than what is gone. Be excited about the future. Just imagine all the possibilities. Not everyone gets a second chance. I wonder what my next boyfriend is doing now.”
Not many would forget their first wedding anniversary together.
Then, on February 14, 2016, Damilola quickly took to Instagram and wrote:
“Thank you for always being strong, always loving me more with each passing day. You are my strength, you have always been. Happy 1st anniversary baby. Truth, joy, love…ALWAYS. @chrisattoh”
Chris also wrote, “Dearest Dami, Our anniversary is a celebration of the mistakes we made in the past, memories we are making today and all the happiness that is in store for us in the future. I don’t know where I would be, if you hadn’t supported me this far. if it weren’t for you, Our house would never have become a home, Our child would never have understood the meaning of family without you. I continue to experience true love because of you. Today, as we celebrate our anniversary, I just want to say thanks for everything baby. These past years, I pray I have been the kind of guy that an amazing woman like you truly deserves.
Today is the perfect moment to say Thank You for all the sacrifices you’ve made to keep the boat of our lives afloat. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to discover that a beautiful wife with a beautiful heart equals a beautiful life. Happy anniversary sweetheart, and a happy Valentines Day. Nii.”
However, signs that all was not well started showing in the young marriage when their son was two years. The zest, at which the duo celebrated him when he was one, was absent—it was done separately.
Damilola, who lives in Nigeria (Attoh lives in Ghana) shared pictures of her and son having fun—no single photo of the parents together with the son.No posts on her husband again after his 2016 birthday.
Damilola was said to have reportedly walked out of the marriage.
