Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has gone into a 14-day self-isolation as recommended by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

According to the information from Ladan Salihu, Former director-general of Radio Nigeria, Governor Bala Mohammed had contact with the son of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who tested positive to the virus on Sunday evening.

His tweet read, “Our Governor Bala Mohammed is in self-isolation following contact with Atiku Abubakar’s Son. Yes. We were on the same flight from Lagos to Abuja.

“They shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. The gov and the rest of us have taken tests. The results will be negative Insha Allah”.

All of his personal aides and security details have also joined the self-isolation exercise, following the development.

Atiku’s son, Mohammed, who is currently being quarantined at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, had tested positive for the virus on Sunday.
