Community Note Discredits VeryDarkMan’s ₦180M NGO Hack Claim

Popular online personality Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, faces heightened scrutiny after a community note on X (formerly Twitter) labeled his claim of ₦180 million being stolen from his NGO website as false.

VeryDarkMan had alleged that hackers breached his NGO’s website, resulting in the disappearance of most of the ₦200 million in donations raised for educational development.

However, the community note clarified that funds could not be stolen from the website since it neither stores nor processes payments.

The note stated: “The website of VDM (Martins Vincent Otse) NGO mvoi4all.com does not store or process payments, so hacking it (if this claim is true) WILL NOT cause any money to go missing from the Zenith Bank account (1313679008) where donations are received.

THIS CLAIM IS FALSE.”The update has amplified skepticism surrounding the allegations, with some suggesting the missing funds could have been misappropriated.

Reactions:@dammiedammie35: “Even a beginner in web tech knows websites don’t hold money. VDM, explain properly!”

@Vic_Adebayo: “The narrative is fishy. You owe your donors an honest breakdown of events.”

@TopzyDike: “Transparency matters. Show us proof if you’re innocent.”

Despite the backlash, VeryDarkMan has not yet provided further evidence or clarified the claims, leaving his credibility under question as more voices demand accountability.
