Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced two separate squads for Nigeria’s upcoming Unity Cup tournament in London and international friendlies against Poland and Portugal in June.
The team selections were confirmed in a post shared on the Super Eagles’ official X handle on Wednesday.
Chelle kept several senior players including captain Wilfred Ndidi, Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi, Moses Simon, Akor Adams and Terem Moffi for the Unity Cup, while also introducing a number of new and home-based talents into the squad.
Nigeria will meet Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup semi-final at Charlton Athletic’s The Valley on May 26. The winner will face either Jamaica or India, who contest the other semi-final.
One of the notable inclusions is Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who recently switched his international allegiance from England to Nigeria. Other new call-ups include Emmanuel Fernandez, Igoh Ogbu, Raphael Onyedika, Tochukwu Nnadi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, and striker Rafiu Durosinmi.
Several NPFL players also earned invitations, including Michael Atata, Elias Ochobi, Chibueze Oputa, Obinna Igboke, Aderemi Adeoye, Ayobami Junior and Tosin Oyedokun.
For the high-profile friendlies, Chelle named a stronger squad featuring established stars such as Alex Iwobi, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka and Paul Onuachu.
Nigeria will face Poland in Warsaw on June 3 before taking on Portugal in Leiria on June 10 as part of preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
