Lagos will host the 2026 CAF Awards on December 7, the Confederation of African Football has announced.
The continental football governing body confirmed the date in a statement on Saturday, with Nigeria also scheduled to host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on November 21.
The decision follows Nigeria’s successful bid to stage both major CAF events after President Bola Tinubu approved the country’s proposal earlier in the year.
As part of preparations, a five-member CAF inspection team visited Nigeria in July to assess the facilities designated for the events.
The team inspected the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre and Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, where the Ordinary General Assembly meetings are expected to take place.
In Lagos, the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Art Theatre, has been selected as the venue for the CAF Awards.
Guests attending the awards will be accommodated at EKO Hotel & Suites.

The CAF Awards is one of the continent’s major annual football events, bringing together leading players, coaches and other stakeholders to celebrate outstanding contributions to African football.
The ceremony returns to Nigeria nearly a decade after the country last hosted the prestigious awards gala.
Nigeria hosted the event on January 6, 2017, when former Algeria international Riyad Mahrez won the Men’s Player of the Year award, while Nigerian forward Asisat Oshoala claimed the women’s prize.
