Former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Friday attended the wedding fatiha of Yusuf Buhari, son of President Muhammadu Buhari, and Zahra Bayero, daughter of the emir of Bichi Nasiru Ado Bayero.
The wedding took place in the ancient city of Kano with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje playing host to top personalities who flew in for the wedding.
In pictures posted on social media by presidential aide Buhari Sallau, the president was welcomed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, Yobe State Governor and APC caretaker committee chairman Mai Mala Buni among others.
Zahra Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Kano State Nasiru Ado Bayero has officially wedded Yusuf Buhari, son of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The duo were joined at their wedding Fatiha which took place on Friday.
Buhari and his vice Prof Yemi Osinbajo had arrived separately for the wedding. The president arrived via a presidential aircraft while Osinbajo arrived via a helicopter.
Before making his way to Kano, Buhari had touched down in Yola, Adamawa State to condole with the government and people of the state over the death of former permanent secretary and an elder statesman, Ahmed Joda.
Chief of staff to the President Prof Ibrahim Gambari led the presidency team to the wedding.
Those in the delegation include the Minister of Defence, Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (retd.); Minister of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono; Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika; Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu as well as Senior Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu.
