Popular drag queen, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky, has revealed that Fuji singer, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall aka KWAM1 was ridiculed in Ijebu Ode for performing at his 30th birthday party in September, 2021.
The Fuji Czar was the major performing artiste at Bobrisky’s which held in Lagos weeks ago.
In a recent chat with Chude Jideonwo, Bobrisky opened up.
He said, “When I told people I wanted KWAM1 at my party, they were like he is expensive and all but because I wanted a luxury party, I didn’t mind the cost. When KWAM1 came through for me at my party, I was overwhelmed having a legend attend to me was overwhelming, when we went to pay him in his hometown in Ijebu, people said all sorts, like why would he collect money to go and play for Bobrisky but he shunned them, accepted and said he will come through for me.”
Speaking further in the interview, Bobrisky revealed how he really makes his money and the source of his wealth which he credits to brand influencing deal on social media.
He said, “I charge up to N30million to endorse and promote for brands….for 6 months deal, I charge up to N50million depending on the brand, I do it with passion and because I am an interesting person, people watch me and want to listen to me and watch me and it helps me sell or market what I put out there and brands always pay for it because they get results…and there is also the behind the scene source of income which I am not ready to put out there.”
On how the journey into stardom began, Bobrisky said, “It all started from Snapchat, doing things my way and interestingly people were following and wanting to keep up with me.
Snapchat made me so famous. I have over 1.5million subscribers and it was one of my friends, Eniola Badmus that now advised me to divert and build audience on Instagram too and the revenue started coming it. I will post a video and in one minute, I will have over a 100,000 views….”
