Nigeria’s most popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka, Bobrisky is not done with all government agencies that saw to his arrest and detention in prison.
Already, he has vowed to drag the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission To Court over his arrest and few detentions in prison.
Bobrisky wrote earlier on Saturday, “Notwithstanding the earlier filing of this fundamental rights matter the EFCC @officialefcc still violently assaulted and harassed me and pulled me out of a plane ✈️ set for takeoff 🛫. The EFCC and other security agencies in Nigeria 🇳🇬 are violators of human rights and it is high time the world 🌎 and the international community gets to know about their trademark of violation of freedom and rights. Without any order of court the minister of interior ordered the Nigeria 🇳🇬 Immigration Service and the Nigeria 🇳🇬 Police to arrest and detain me which lead to my worsening illnesses, then again the EFCC arrested and took me from their Lagos office to Abuja notwithstanding the pendency of this suit. It is a shame that the EFCC does not respect the court neither does any security agencies they act above the law which they claim to protect and implement.”
Meanwhile, Bobrisky has traced his legal troubles to an award he received earlier this year for Best Dressed Female at a movie premiere.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Bobrisky reflected on his challenges, stating that winning the award marked the beginning of his problems.
He suggested that if he hadn’t accepted the recognition, which included a cash prize of one million naira he might have avoided his current predicaments.
“My problem started from when I collected the best dressed female with a 1 million prize.
“For my life, if I see an award for best dressed female I will disappear from that location ASAP,” Bobrisky wrote.
Bobrisky received the controversial Best Dressed Female award at the premiere of actress Eniola Ajao’s movie Beast of Two Worlds (Ajakaju) in March 2024.
The decision to honour Bobrisky, who is not biologically female, led to a backlash on social media, with critics questioning the fairness of the award.
Following the uproar, Bobrisky has encountered various legal challenges including investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and scrutiny from the Nigerian Immigration Service.
