Bayern Munich has officially extended Manuel Neuer’s contract until the end of the 2025-26 season, putting an end to speculation about his future with the club.

Manuel Neuer, who has made over 500 appearances for Bayern since joining from Schalke in 2011, remains a key figure for the team. Bayern’s sporting chief Max Eberl described him as “the best goalkeeper of his generation and a Bayern icon.”

The 38-year-old goalkeeper expressed his commitment to continuing with Bayern, stating that he is “still hungry” for more trophies after winning 11 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League trophies with the club.
Manuel Neuer, who retired from international football last year, recently returned from a rib injury sustained in December against Bayer Leverkusen. Despite growing competition for his spot, he remains Bayern’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Alexander Nübel, currently on loan at Stuttgart until 2026, is widely seen as Neuer’s eventual successor, with his Bayern contract running until 2029.
