Today, which is Valentine’s Day, the new Governor of Bayelsa State Senator Duoye Diri was sworn in as Govenor.
Also, his Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo also took the oath of office some hours earlier.
The duo benefitted from the Supreme Court sacking of the APC’s David Lyon on Thursday.
The five-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Mary Peter-Odili ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Lyon and his running mate.
The swearing in ceremony which took place inside the government house, comes after the Independent National Electoral Commission presented Certificates of return to both the governor and deputy governor in Abuja.
