Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, who scored a goal against Australia in the 72′ in the 2023 Women’s FIFA World Cup, has revealed that her father was not happy with the way she chose to celebrate shirtless after scoring against Australia.

Oshoala, after her score at the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup, took off her jersey and ran to the side of the pitch to celebrate,

It happened after making it 3-1 on Thursday, July 27.

The 28-year-old’s enthusiastic display went viral and stirred a debate on social media platforms among football fanatics.

However, she revealed via her Instagram page, that her dad did not approve of her actions.

Oshoala, who made the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list for 2023 Africa Young Innovators and Tomorrow’s Titans, wrote, “My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, life is a collection of MOMENTS.”

Nigeria are currently top of their group with four points and they will play the Republic of Ireland in their final group game.
