Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has finally made peace with his father, Fatai Odunsi, after facing backlash for allegedly neglecting him.
Odunsi, also known as Malo, who suffered a stroke and struggled to pay his medical bills, had publicly called out his son, asking Nigerians to plead on his behalf. The viral video sparked mixed reactions, with many criticising Asake for not supporting his father despite his massive success.
However, in a recent interview with digital creator Aki Abolade, also known as Mrlilgaga, Odunsi confirmed that Asake had reached out to him and promised to take care of all his needs.
Speaking in Yoruba, the elderly man expressed joy, revealing that his son had agreed to buy him a house, settle his medical bills, and also support his daughter.
“He (Asake) has said they should look for a house, and they have been searching since yesterday. He has started doing it,” Odunsi said.
The reconciliation comes after days of controversy, with Asake sharing a cryptic message on TikTok where he lamented about trying to please everyone.
Meanwhile, the drama also extended to Asake’s alleged baby mama, Adijat, who claimed the singer abandoned their 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat, after gaining fame. According to her, Asake blocked her after she reached out for financial support.
However, in his latest interview, Odunsi confirmed that Asake had now agreed to take responsibility for the child.
Following the resolution of the family dispute, netizens have showered praises on the ‘Lonely at the Top’ crooner for making amends. Many hailed his decision, praying for his continued success.
