Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka will be sidelined for “many weeks” after suffering a hamstring tear during the club’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the injury in a press conference on Monday.
Bukayo Saka’s Condition
Saka was spotted leaving Selhurst Park on crutches, deepening concerns over his fitness.
While Arteta reassured that the injury wasn’t season-ending, he estimated Saka would miss around eight weeks, emphasizing:
“It could have been much worse. It could have been something else that can take you out for a year.”
Saka’s Impact
The 23-year-old England international has been pivotal for Arsenal this season, with five Premier League goals and 10 assists, making his absence a significant blow.
Arsenal’s Challenge
The Gunners sit third in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Liverpool, having played a game more. Arteta expressed confidence in managing Saka’s absence, highlighting past resilience:
“We went through the period with Martin (Odegaard) and the period with five, six defenders missing. We’re taking it with positive energy.”
Arteta also revealed Raheem Sterling had suffered a knee injury, further compounding Arsenal’s injury woes.
