Nigerian actress Angela Okorie has disclosed the reason she set fire to the outfit she wore to the burial ceremony of late actor Alexx Ekubo.
Alexx Ekubo was recently laid to rest in his hometown of Aziukwubwo Ujori village, Arochukwu in Abia State. The 40-year-old actor reportedly passed away on May 11 after battling stage 4 kidney cancer.
Sharing a video on her Instagram story, Angela said the decision to burn the outfit was influenced by advice from her godmother, who warned against keeping clothes worn to funerals.
“This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My Godmother said it is not good to keep the clothes you wore to a burial around you; you should burn them,” she wrote.
She added that she decided to pass the message on to others.
“So family and friends, take note. I felt I should share this information. May the Lord keep and bless us with long life. Amen. Chaiii.”

In a separate development earlier in January, Angela was remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre after being arraigned over alleged cyber-related offences.
Although details of the charges were not officially made public, reports linked the case to her ongoing dispute with fellow actress Mercy Johnson.
The feud reportedly intensified last year when Angela alleged that Mercy Johnson was suffering from “an ailment I do not wish on my enemies.”
