Lagos-based law firm Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors has issued a pre-action notice to music superstar Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke, over claims of harassment, threats, cyberbullying, and defamation against one of its partners, Ebelechukwu Enedah.
The notice, dated February 24, 2026, was sent on behalf of Mrs Enedah, formally informing Adeleke of the firm’s intention to initiate legal proceedings. It was signed by Decency Nkume, Associate, and Nnamdi Oragwu, Partner, of Punuka Attorneys.
The letter stated in part: “We are Counsel to Mrs Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah (hereinafter referred to as ‘Our Client’), on whose unequivocal instruction, we notify you of her intention to commence legal action against you.”
According to the firm, the dispute arose during a court session in Suit No: LD/1587PMC/2024, David Adeleke v. Sophia Momodu, at the Lagos State High Court on February 12, 2026, where Mrs Enedah appeared as counsel for Momodu.
Punuka Attorneys alleged that Adeleke behaved inappropriately during the proceedings, becoming verbally aggressive toward the lawyer.
“Your conduct deteriorated to such a degree that physical restraint became necessary to prevent further disruption to the proceedings,” the letter read.
The firm further stated that the presiding judge instructed Adeleke to apologise in open court, a directive he allegedly ignored.
“The Honourable Court directed you to apologise to Our Client in open court for your conduct, which directive you disobeyed,” it added.
The lawyers also claimed the conflict spilled onto social media, accusing Adeleke and accounts linked to him of posting statements that exposed Mrs Enedah to harassment and threats online.
Among the remarks cited were: “I disgraced you in the courtroom… I was teaching you your work, you couldn’t even take it… You are a wicked human being, UR THE WORST LAWYER EVER! I BEAT YOU IN COURT!”
Describing the posts as malicious, the firm said, “To publicly brand a lawyer of her standing as ‘THE WORST LAWYER EVER’ is not the expression of grievance. It is a deliberate and malicious act of reputational destruction.”

Punuka Attorneys noted the consequences were immediate:
“The consequences were swift and severe. Our Client was immediately subjected to a torrent of abusive text messages, threatening telephone calls, and explicit threats to her safety and the safety of her family.”
The letter emphasised that lawyers must be able to perform their duties without intimidation or public ridicule, especially in matters involving child custody and welfare. The firm demanded an immediate cessation of public commentary on the case.
“You are hereby required to issue a clear and unequivocal public statement withdrawing the defamatory statements and offering an unreserved apology to Our Client,” the notice read.
In addition, Mrs Enedah is seeking ₦1 billion in damages for alleged harassment, defamation, and emotional distress. The firm warned that failure to comply within seven days would result in court action.
“Should you fail, refuse, or neglect to comply with the above demands within seven (7) days of receipt of this letter, Our Client shall, without further recourse to you, commence an action at the High Court of Lagos to seek the reliefs outlined herein,” it stated.
The dispute arises from a long-running custody and child support battle between Davido and Sophia Momodu, which has drawn significant public attention. Adeleke has not responded publicly to the pre-action notice as of the time of filing this report.
