As the usual custom is, some of the queens of the paramount Oyo ruler, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, would gather at any festive season to celebrate with him.

They dress gorgeously and take photos with the ageing monarch.
This year’s Sallah celebration seems to be a lavish one what with all the queens wearing expensive aso ebi and make-up.
But Queen Ola, who was rumoured to be sleeping with Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, was conspicuously absent.
This seems to put paid to the allegations that she has moved out of the palace.
Though she invoked the deities of Oyo to slay her if she truly had an affair, it seems she is no longer the king’s favourite.
Queen Ola, a mother of three, who must have married the king in her early 20s, is one of the favourite queens of the 82-year-old monarch of the Oyo Kingdom.
She even referred to herself as Alaafin’s oxygen.
Not known to be a friend to many of the queens, Queen Ola enjoyed much privileges from the monarch and hardly befriends any other wife in the palace except Queen Meimunat.
Then, Meimunat was a best friend in the palace and that is Queen Memunat who also gave birth to a set of twin girls in 2018.
They wore same clothes and were always at the beck and call of the Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who will clock 82 years in October.
Both queens, who are Alhajas (went to Mecca at the same time earlier in the year) were pregnant at the same time and gave birth to their babies a week apart.
First, Memunat had her twins, a set of two girls, while Ola had hers a week after and it was a set of two boys.
Though the limelight beamed more on one of the youngest queens, Olaitan Ajoke Badirat, many would attest to the fact that she remains the most loved of all the ancient Oyo queens on social media.
Now, they have deleted each other’s photos and videos on their Instagram pages.
They have both unfollowed each other.
As a matter of fact, Kemiashefonlovehaven discovered that all the photos and videos of their babies christening ceremonies which held within a week in 2018 and which they both wore same aso-ebi, have all been deleted from their Instagram handles!
So what did Queen Ola do on Sallah Day?
She has been posting new designs of Aso Oke, wearing lovely gowns and minding her various businesses.
Has she really left the palace?
