The ageing monarch of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, clocked 83 years old on Friday, October 15, 2021.
Well, many congratulatory messages cropped up for the highly revered king especially from all his queens who are visible online.
With many referring to him as their demi-god and God-sent, many would be amazed at Queen Memunat’s shout-out. She wrote, “Happy birthday, my demigod and centurion My superhero. My Super handsome husband, with whom I’m well pleased.
May the peace of God that passeth all understanding fill your heart. I need to let you know again and Again that you are the one of God’s most elegant creatures for great exploits and manifestations. I haven’t once be rueful of chosen you as my suitor I’m using this opportunity of your birthday to beseeching Almighty Allah to spear you for more century because you made me a noticeable woman in the society and your gestures and Efforts upon my family would be forever appreciative, We’re all progressing here!! OMO IBIRONKE live longer to conquer more enemies!!!”
So did many other queens sent a shout-out to the king.
But not former queens Badirat and Anuoluwapo.
Badirat, who is currently holidaying in Paris, has refused to post any photos, videos since her last one which shows her touring Paris.
The beautiful mother of three princes ignored the monarch’s birthday unlike when she would write epistles on her ageing husband.
Barirat is in her early 30s. She was once the most favoured of the queens and she was even referred to as ‘Baba’s Oxygen.’ Then, before other young queens had businesses, she had floated businesses in clothing, skincare and logistics. Her 30th birthday party in 2019 was the talk-of-town. She got a Sports Utility Vehicle as a gift from the monarch even before she clocked 30 years. Always posting stunning images on Instagram, it was obvious the king loved her dearly. She packed out after the reported scandal of an allegation of adultery.
For Anuoluwapo, this is the second time she would ignore the monarch’s birthday after her exit from the palace in 2020.
Initially, many didn’t believe this because some months before fleeing the palace, she had granted an interview to BBC Yoruba and spoken highly of the 82-year-old monarch as a great husband, her teacher, and a generous spouse who has made her a fulfilled woman despite the fact that she is in her 20s.
Now in Lagos and running a styling business, her university education was sponsored by the Alaafin who, Queen Anu revealed, loves quality education for his young queens.
A mother of two (set of twins) she ignored Kabiyesi on his 83rd birthday celebration and didn’t send her usual birthday shout-out. But she uploaded photos of her children when they had their birthdays some days before.
She was once the favourite queen after Badirat fell out with the king.
But, it seems Queen Anu has pitched her tent elsewhere now. She alleged that she was under bondage and it was time to walk away from the marriage. She even alleged kidnap and cried out that the revered monarch threatened to harm her.
