Senate President Godswill Akpabio has officially inaugurated the Open-Mende-Ojota Link Bridge and a multi-agency facility in Alausa, now renamed the Bola Ahmed Administrative Complex, in Lagos State.
Akpabio performed the commissioning on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is currently in Lagos for a series of project inaugurations under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The event, captured in a video shared by Sanwo-Olu’s aide Jubril Gawat, also had in attendance Hope Uzodimma and Senator Tokunbo Abiru, among other dignitaries.
While unveiling the projects, Akpabio stated, “On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I commission these projects.”
The commissioning forms part of activities lined up for the President’s two-day working visit, during which several infrastructure projects across the state are expected to be inaugurated.
Earlier, Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, disclosed that the President would commission multiple “iconic, transformative and legacy projects” executed by the state government. These include the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building, the Multi-Agency Complex in Alausa, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, the Maracana Stadium, and the Lagos Food Logistics Hub in Abijo.
“Please join the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to a two-day working visit to our dear State. While here, the President will commission some of our iconic, transformative, and legacy projects,” Akosile stated.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government has announced temporary road closures in parts of the state to ensure smooth execution of the commissioning events.
In a statement, Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, explained that the measure was necessary for safety and traffic control.
“All motorists transiting this corridor during the specified hours should seek alternative routes to avoid congestion and ensure timely arrival at their destinations,” the statement said.
According to the government, the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge commissioning will affect traffic around Opebi, Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while additional disruptions are expected in Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle on Thursday during the commissioning of the Tolu Schools Complex.
