Senator Natasha: Senate President Godswill Akpabio has fired back at Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing her claim that he plotted to assassinate her as false, malicious, and inflammatory.

In a statement on Friday by his media aide, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio denied all allegations and warned that legal action is coming against both Akpoti-Uduaghan and former Senator Elisha Abbo.
Formal letters demanding public apologies, retractions, and compensation for reputational damage are already being prepared, according to Eyiboh.
“As a leader committed to unity and democracy, Senator Akpabio will not be distracted by dangerous lies,” the statement read.
Eyiboh accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of previously accusing Akpabio of sexual harassment but later dropped the claim without explanation. He described it as part of a pattern of using false victimhood for political gain.
The statement also addressed new allegations from Elisha Abbo, who claimed during a recent Arise TV interview that Akpabio influenced the judiciary to remove him from office. Eyiboh responded by reminding the public that Abbo had already withdrawn those claims in 2023 and publicly apologised.
He insisted Abbo’s removal came through a valid judgment from the Court of Appeal and not political manipulation.
Eyiboh also clarified that Senate entitlements are handled through official administrative processes—not decided by the Senate President.
He hinted at a political agenda behind the renewed attacks. “The timing and coordination suggest a desperate plot to discredit the Senate and its leadership,” he said.
While the Senate President remains focused on his legislative duties, the statement confirmed that legal steps are being taken to hold his accusers accountable.
