A coalition of 28 groups have bought the nomination and expression of interest forms for president of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Akinwumi Adesina to vie for the All Progressives Congress’ presidential ticket.

The groups includes Youth Arise Movement, Nigerians in Diaspora One Nigeria Group, Prudent Youth Association of Nigeria, women groups, farmers, people with disabilities and civil society organisations.

UNCH reports that it got hold of the slip acknowledging payment of N100 million for the forms on Saturday.

The coalition is led by the head of One Nigeria Group Mohammed Saleh.

Adesina, a former minister of agriculture in Nigeria, is serving a second term as AfDB president, which will elapse in 2025.

He is the first Nigerian to occupy the top job at the financial institution.

He has served in several high-profile positions internationally, including on the Rockefeller Foundation.
