The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has reportedly eliminated nine suspected terrorists and destroyed three carts believed to have been loaded with weapons and other supplies during an air operation in Dumba, Borno State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a statement shared on X, saying the precision strike was carried out on Saturday, August 8, following intelligence on suspected terrorist activities in the area.
According to the report, the operation was conducted as part of an armed reconnaissance and air interdiction mission aimed at tracking and disrupting terrorist movements.
Makama said the aircraft arrived over the Dumba area at about 2:58pm after receiving information about the presence of suspected terrorists.
He explained that the crew initially observed three suspected terrorists moving along a road, while another group of six was seen pushing three carts believed to contain weapons and logistics.
Rather than launching an immediate attack, the aircraft reportedly monitored the groups and followed their movements until they eventually converged at a location within the bush.

“Rather than engaging immediately, the aircraft maintained surveillance and tracked the terrorists until both groups converged and came to a halt at a location inside the bush,” he said.
The aircraft subsequently carried out a precision strike on the identified target, reportedly killing all nine suspected terrorists and destroying the three carts.
The operation forms part of ongoing military efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and deny armed groups freedom of movement in Borno and other parts of the North-East.
