Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa has taken a fourth wife, Asmau Moriki, adding to his growing family four years after marrying a Shuwa woman named Maryam.
Clips from the wedding ceremony surfaced on Instagram on Friday, showing the footballer and his new bride sharing joyful moments with friends and well-wishers in attendance.
Musa, known for his impressive football career and philanthropic work, also draws public attention for his personal life, particularly his marriages.
He married his first wife, Jamila Musa, in 2013. The union produced two children: Ahmed Musa Jr., born in 2014 and Halima Musa, born in 2015.
Their marriage ended in 2017 due to irreconcilable differences. Reports at the time linked their separation to Musa’s relationship with another woman, which reportedly led to a domestic dispute and his arrest in the UK. He was later released without charge.
Shortly after the divorce, Musa married Juliet Ejue. Their introduction ceremony was held in March 2017, followed by a court wedding in Abuja on May 23, and a traditional wedding on July 1, 2017, in Idum Mbube village, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Juliet, a graduate of the University of Calabar, is the mother of two of Musa’s children, including a son named Ibrahim Ahmed-Musa, born in June 2018.
In July 2021, the footballer tied the knot with Mariam Adamu Jajere in a private ceremony in Kano. Mariam, from Yobe State, became his third wife, confirming Musa’s practice of polygamy.
“Give Me My Husband’s Body—Widow of Nigerian Boxer Segun Olanrewaju Begs FG
That she lost her husband, Segun Olanrewaju, a boxer, is enough pain. But to not have his remains returned to his family is more painful.
That could be the reason his widow, Busola, is pleading and asking that the corpse be returned from Ghana, where her husband gave up the ghost while on duty as a boxer.
Busola Olanrewaju, widow of Nigerian boxer Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju, has made a heartfelt appeal for the urgent release of her husband’s body, which has been held in Ghana since his tragic death during a fight.
The former National and West African light-heavyweight champion collapsed on March 29 in the ring while battling Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu.
He was pronounced dead shortly after, with preliminary reports pointing to a possible cardiac arrest as the cause.
In a viral video circulating on social media, a visibly distressed Busola expressed her frustration over the prolonged delay in retrieving Segun’s remains. She described the situation as a heavy burden on her and their two young children.
“I am helpless right now. It is taking a lot of time, they should return his body. My children are still young, I need to go out and make ends meet; they are lacking in a lot of ways. I have only been getting ‘very soon’ whenever I call out the authorities involved,” she said.
Busola also revealed that her parents have stepped in to help cover some of the expenses, but the ongoing delay is impacting her ability to care for her children properly and begin the healing process.
The boxing community and fans have mourned Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju, a respected athlete who brought pride to Nigerian boxing through his achievements.
Efforts to facilitate the release of Segun’s body have so far been met with vague assurances from the Ghanaian authorities.
Olanrewaju held national and West African titles and was considered a rising star in the boxing community before his death.
