The remains of former First Lady of Gombe State, Haiya Yelwa Mohammed Danjuma Goje will not be interred today as announced.
This is due to challenges faced by the deceased families in securing an aircraft to convey her remains to Nigeria from the United States of America.
The family had in a statement by Ahmad Mohammed Goje said Hajiya Yelwa died on Monday in the United States of America where she had gone for medical attention.
The burial earlier scheduled for Friday November 3, was postponed to today, Saturday and it has been further postponed.
The burial, according to the family would be done as soon as the remains of Haiya Yelwa arrive the country.
Meanwhile, wife of the Senate President, Toyin Saraki alongside other members of the Forum of Senators’ Wives paid a condolence visit on Senator Danjuma Goje recently.
Saraki, who is the chairperson of the Forum of Senators’ Wives, commiserated with Senator Goje who represents Gombe Central at the Senate and who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation.
The senators’ wives condoled with Senator Danjuma Goje and his family over the demise of Hajiya Yelwa, who passed away in the early hours of Monday, October 30th 2017.
Paying tribute to the late wife of the Senator, who was also a member of the Forum, Mrs. Saraki described Hajiya Yelwa Goje as a dependable friend whose advice and team spirit would be greatly missed.
Accompanying the Wife of The Senate President to the Goje’s residence in Abuja were: Mrs. Hauwa Philip Aduda (FCT); Mrs. Bilkisu Kyari (Bornu North); H.E Mrs Valentine Dariye (Plateau Central); Hajiya Zainab Babakaka Garbai (Bornu Central), Mrs. Bolanle Ibrahim (Kwara South) and Hajiya Zainab Bakudu (Jigawa Central)
The visit was concluded with prayers for late Hajiya Yelwa and for the family. The Forum prays that Almighty Allah will grant her soul Al-Jannah Firdaus.
