Tears flowed freely as the remains of Modupe Dada, wife of the founder and president of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) and the Managing Director of PRM Africa Marketing and Communications Limited, Mike Dada, were interred.

The remains of Mrs Dada were buried on Thursday following a funeral service at Grace Assembly, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.

Her death left many attendees, including her immediate and extended families, associates, friends and well-wishers, in tears as she was described as a peace-loving, respectful and graceful person.

Dada’s daughter Olorire took a reading from the Bible at the farewell service.

The AFRIMA founder thanked all for their support.

Some of the attendees include deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Training and Development, Frank Mba; media entrepreneur, Dele Momodu; and former Lagos commissioner of information and strategy, Steve Ayorinde.

Also present were media entrepreneurs Azuh Arinze and Olumide Iyanda, comedian Gbenga Adeyinka and senior special assistant (SSA) on Lagos liaison to Akwa Ibom State governor Michael Effiong.

A service of songs was held in the deceased’s honour at Grace Assembly on Wednesday.

Many said she was a woman of impact who touched lives everywhere she went.

Mrs Dada (nee Baruwa) died on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Dutchess International Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos.

Born on May 5, 1976, she was vice-president of AFRIMA and an accomplished bank executive.

She is survived by her husband, two children and siblings.
