Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has disclosed that she welcomed a baby girl more than two years ago, revealing the news publicly for the first time on her birthday.
The actress made the announcement on Sunday via Instagram, where she shared maternity photos alongside a close-up image of her daughter’s hand.
In her emotional post, Adunni explained that she and her family intentionally kept the birth private, choosing to enjoy the moment away from public attention and scrutiny.
“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote.
She described the period as deeply personal, marked by quiet struggles and moments that tested her resilience, but ultimately filled with gratitude.
According to her, the decision to keep her daughter’s arrival out of the spotlight was driven by her desire for peace, not secrecy or obligation to the public.
“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” she said.
Adunni also addressed common stereotypes about single mothers, stressing that not every personal story fits public assumptions or carries controversy.

“Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached,” she wrote.
She described her daughter, whom she fondly called Baby Sal, as a long-awaited gift and a testament to answered prayers.
“God gave me mine. Fully. Peacefully. Intentionally. A journey of almost a decade. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she added.
The actress noted that while the public knows her as Adunni Ade, her private life is far more personal and not always visible to fans.
“Adunni Ade online is one thing. Adunni Adewale at home is something you may never fully understand and that’s okay,” she said.
She also appreciated supporters who have continued to show love and prayers to her and her family over the years.
Adunni Ade, who is already a mother to two grown sons, has often shared moments of her parenting journey online while keeping much of her private life away from the public eye.
Her revelation has now brought to light a significant chapter she had previously kept private from her followers.
Addressing potential speculation, she clarified that no relationship or family was broken in the process of welcoming her daughter.
In a postscript, she wrote: “No single home is or was broken in the making of our Baby Sal.”
She ended her message on a warm and hopeful note, simply stating, “It’s always love.”
