General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has donated N10 million to the University of Ibadan (UI) for the construction of a new architecture department.

Vice Chancellor of UI, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, disclosed the donation on Wednesday during the matriculation of 3,464 students including 17 foreigners.

The Vice Chancellor said he was hopeful that that the university would soon start producing her own architecture graduates.

Olayinka said the number of architects in Nigeria of about 190 million people was less than that of Berlin, Germany, with 3.575 million people.

He said he was optimistic that the university’s architecture graduates would not only design individual houses but would put Ibadan and other cities in better shape with their creativity and ideas.
